Dr. Harold Lee currently works as a National Security Analyst at the country’s premier UARC. He applies his technical skills to address some of the nation’s most difficult challenges. Dr. Lee’s expertise includes creating nanomaterials, additive manufacturing with nanomaterials, designing and testing new composites, developing materials for extreme thermal, chemical, and radiation environments, and working with organic electronic materials and devices. Before becoming a National Security Analyst, he held positions at Sandia National Labs, Northrop Grumman, and the National Science Foundation (NSF). He earned his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Norfolk State University (NSU), under the mentorship of Dr. Sam Sun. His research has resulted in over 50 presentations and publications in peer-reviewed journals and scientific conferences, covering both unclassified and classified areas. His specialized skills and knowledge have supported fundamental research and development, the Intelligence Community, and National Security. Dr. Lee remains active in the scientific community by participating in numerous professional societies such as NOBCChE, ACS, NSBE, MRS, and SPIE. His passion for science and mentoring the next generation motivates him to excel and contribute to his community. He has received several recognitions, including an Employee Recognition Award (ERA) from Sandia National Labs, a SPOT award from the Commissioner of the MEAC, and recognition from the Portsmouth Public School system. Additionally, he is a six-year veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
