LaRico Treadwell, Ph.D. (PI, Chemist/Material Scientist), brings over a decade of experience in Government and Scientific Research. He holds a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Mississippi and a Ph.D. in Inorganic/Solid State Chemistry from Louisiana State University, where his research focused on metal and ceramic structure-property relationships. Dr. Treadwell's expertise spans the development of new synthesis techniques for nano and micro-scale materials, advanced processing methods for composites, nanocomposites, and metal alloys across various programs and applications. His specific areas of expertise include 3D printed corrosion sensors, hybrid materials, autonomous smart devices, nanomaterials, nanocomposites, and fiber-reinforced composites, as evidenced by his over 40 publications and more than 15 patents.
Dr. Treadwell is dedicated to enhancing the workforce population in STEM fields, higher education, and professional careers. He has a proven track record of securing and applying for grant/contract funding to support initiatives aimed at elevating education, STEM, and professional endeavors. Through experience Dr. Treadwell has conducted >30 workshops and seminars for professionals at all employment levels, focusing on critical skill development, leadership, and motivational.
